Coastal Farm and Ranch expresses interest in Sherwood Joe's retail store

A public hearing regarding a conditional-use request to transform the former Sherwood Joe's retail store into a Coastal Farm and Ranch store is planned for April 4.

A hearings officer will hear the request from applicant Scott Morris who is seeking a site plan modification and conditional use permit. Changes would include exterior finishes and new landscaping as well as removing 20 existing parking spaces.

Coastal Ranch has nine retail stores in Oregon and Washington, employing 350 people.

Joe's, formerly known as G.I. Joe's, filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and liquidated its assets.

The hearing begins at 6 p.m. at Sherwood City Hall.
