'Transportation - Come Along for the Ride' Exhibit
WHAT: The Gresham Historical Society will launch its new exhibit, 'Transportation - Come Along for the Ride,' with an opening event Saturday afternoon, March 26. Weather permitting, the opening event will feature antique fire trucks and cars and an airplane flyover by the Troutdale Airport. The exhibit will feature historical artifacts of various modes of transportation, including a very rare wooden bicycle, circa 1900, on loan from the Sandy Historical Society. The exhibit will run for the rest of the year during museum open hours.
WHEN: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

'Soccer City USA: The Birth and Rise of the Portland Timbers'
WHAT: The Oregon Encyclopedia gives a nod to Timbers fever in this OE History Night presentation. Michael Orr will take a look at the Timbers' first season in 1975, a season so successful that it landed the Timbers in the Soccer Bowl and earned Portland the nickname 'Soccer City USA.'
WHO: Michael Orr hosts the weekly radio program 'mao's Football Show' on Cascadia.fm and has contributed articles to 'The Blizzard' football magazine. He is now writing a history of the 1975 season.
WHEN: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 29.
