Suburban joins Japan relief effort
Dealerships offer $5,000 match
Sandy-area residents who want to assist the people of Japan can make their contributions go further by donating through Suburban Auto Group.
The two Sandy car dealerships are offering to match donations, up to the first $5,000, that their customers make toward earthquake relief.
In addition, the Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association will match those dollars as well - up to the first $50,000 that is contributed within the Portland area.
With the two matching donations, 'it means people are able to triple their contribution,' says Nancy Jaksich of Suburban Chevrolet.
The money that's raised will go to the Japan YMCA, which is 'on the ground' providing relief, Jaksich says.
For more information on how to donate, drop by either the Ford or the Chevrolet dealership or visit their website, suburbanautogroup.com. Information also will be posted on Suburban's Facebook page.
