CLACKAMAS - Two local girls starred for the Oregon Fever Amateur Softball Association 14-U team, as the Fever kicked off off its season with an impressive showing at the Spring Fling Invitational, held the weekend of March 12-13 at Hood View Park.

Ashley Dugan of Oregon City hammered a grand slam home run in an 11-4 pool-play win over 'Something Special.'

Kennedy Suhr of Milwaukie hit an inside-the-park home run in a 13-2 win over 'Rip City.'

Oregon Fever, which placed fifth at the 2010 ASA Western Nationals, went 4-1 in the season-opening tournament, outscoring its five opponents 55-10.
