'Hood to Coast' film
A new documentary film about four teams, with varying levels of athletic ability, on their epic journey competing in Oregon's famous relay road race will be playing at the Keller Auditorium Jan. 11.
Unfortunately, all showings are already sold out, but there are tickets available for a red carpet event; go to www.hoodtocoastmovie.com for more information.
'Hood to Coast' was made by NCM Fathom and Film For Thought Inc. The movie will show in 340 theaters nationwide, organizers say.
The premiere in Portland will include red-carpet interviews with the likes of Olympian Mary Decker Slaney, Runner's World editor Bart Yasso, Olympic runner Kenny Moore, HTC founder Bob Foote and film director Christoph Baaden, as well as members of the four teams featured.
The red carpet event starts at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at Keller, 222 S.W. Clay St., with the screening following at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $24.50 and $34.50 for the red carpet event.
The documentary was shot in high definition, featuring the four teams and members who were among the 12,000 runners and 2,000 support vans participating in the Hood to Coast relay.
'If one movie captures the runner's high,' Yasso says, ''Hood to Coast' is it!'
