Take a journey through the Hanford Nuclear Reservation offered
Documentary film offered, with talk by filmmaker
On the heels of a major radiation leak from Japanese nuclear plants, Portlanders are invited to view a documentary on the Northwest's largest nuclear complex.
Portland State University's Institute for Sustainable Solutions will offer a free screening of 'The Area: A Journey through the Hanford Nuclear Reservation,' at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 30.
Filmmaker Cameron Salony, a U.S. Department of Energy employee at Hanford, documents his experience learning the history of the nuclear weapons complex and its later status as one of the world's largest environmental cleanup sites. Salony will be on hand to discuss the film after the screening.
The event takes place at PSU's Shattuck Hall Annex, 1914 S.W. Park Ave.
