Library events for March 26

The following is a list of free programs and events being held at the following East Multnomah County libraries:

SUNDAY, MARCH 27

Chess at the Library - 1 to 4:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Have fun playing chess or Chinese chess; the library will provide the equipment. All ages welcome.

Learning Lab: Guide to English Language Learning Resources - 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Learn about library resources and services and practice with English language learning websites. Labs are in English, and basic computer skills are required. Call 503-988-6318 for information.

Mi Piñata - 2 to 4 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Under the instruction of Nelda Reyes and Gerardo Calderon, craft your own traditional cardboard piñata and decorate it with colored papers.

Teens Teach Dance: Learn to 'Jerk' - 3 to 4 p.m., Troutdale Library. A dance crew from Walt Morey Middle School will perform and then teach some jerking moves. No experience is necessary.

MONDAY, MARCH 28

Tiny Tots - 10 to 10:45 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 12-24 months, with an adult.

Toddler Storytime - 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., Troutdale Library. Storytime for children, ages 24-36 months, with an adult.

Toddler Storytime - 11 to 11:30 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 24-36 months, with an adult.

Preschool Storytime - 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., Troutdale Library. Storytime for children, 3 to 6 years old, with an adult.

Computer Lab for Job Seekers - 4 to 6 p.m., Gresham Library. Update your résumé, file for unemployment or apply for a dream job in this computer lab for job seekers. Limited technical support is provided.

Russian Storytime - 4 to 4:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Stories presented in Russian for children up to age 6, with an adult.

TUESDAY, MARCH 29

Book Babies - 10:15 to 11 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for infants up to 12 months old, with an adult.

Preschool Storytime - 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 3 to 6, with an adult.

Computer Lab - 3 to 5 p.m., Troutdale Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills. Spanish-language assistance is available.

Computer Lab - 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills. Spanish-language assistance available.

Teen Lounge and Homework Center - 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Rockwood Library. Use library computers, get homework help or just do homework and listen to music. For teens in grades sixth through 12th.

Intercambio/Language Exchange - 6 to 7:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Practice speaking English or Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. Beginners are welcome.

TechnoHosts - 6 to 8 p.m., Rockwood Library. Get free one-on-one computer help. Volunteers will help you search the web, play educational CD-ROM games, look up books with the library catalogue and more.

Pajama Time - 6:30 to 7 p.m., Troutdale Library. Time for children, 6 years old and younger, with an adult to put on their pajamas, grab a bedtime buddy and join in for stories, songs and fun.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30

Teen Lounge and Homework Center - 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Use library computers to access the Internet and do word processing, get homework help from trained staff and online tutors or just do homework and hang out in beanbag chairs. For teens in grades sixth through 12th.

Intercambio/Language Exchange - 6 to 7:30 p.m., Rockwood Library. Practice speaking English or Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. Beginners are welcome.
