Police say womans death was suspicious

Update: Victim identified as Michelle Woods

Portland police are investigating the suspicious death of a 37-year-old Northeast Portland woman, whose body was found Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, police identified the woman as Michelle Woods. Results of an autopsy were inconclusive. Results of toxicology tests were not immediately available.

Police said Woods' body was found at about 3:30 p.m. in an apartment in the 12400 block of Northeast Glisan Street after someone called 9-1-1 reporting that a woman inside the apartment was unconscious. Officers and medical personnel went into the apartment and determined that the woman's death was suspicious.

The investigation was turned over to homicide detectives.
