Tigard Police arrested a 29-year-old man Tuesday morning after he allegedly robbed the Key Bank at 11665 S.W. Pacific Highway.
Matthew Garrett Greer was arrested after he reportedly handed the teller a note demanding money, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing on foot just after 9 a.m.
A bank employee called police and gave them a description of the suspect.
Tigard Police took the suspect into custody 17 minutes later after a brief search involving Beaverton and Hillsboro police officers and Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies. He was located near Southwest 71st Avenue and Spruce Street in Tigard.
'The elements came together beautifully,' said Tigard Police spokesman Jim Wolf. 'We had a significant amount of officers within the area quickly and we brought this to a close.'
Greer was charged with bank robbery and lodged in the Multnomah County Jail awaiting arraignment.
