Police track down California fugitive minutes after bank robbery on SE 82nd
Cameron Joseph Carr, already wanted in Santa Clara County, is accused of robbing the US Bank on SE 82nd
Police tracked down a fugitive from California just minutes after he tries to rob a bank on SE 82nd Avenue in Clackamas.
Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies arrested Cameron Joseph Carr, 30, near the WinCo parking lot, not far from the U.S. Bank branch at 11333 SE 82nd that they say he tried to rob.
Witnesses from the bank say Carr entered, approached the on-duty bank teller and demanded money at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday. A witness at the bank called 911 and described Carr's getaway car, leading deputies and the Oregon State Police to arrest him about five minutes after the robbery was reported.
Carr has two fugitive warrants from Santa Clara County California, including violation of a protection order, and inflicting corporal injury.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators are interviewing the suspect; processing the scene, conducting the follow-up investigation and preparing the investigative case file to be presented to the United States Attorney's Office in Portland for consideration of prosecution.
Carr was taken into custody and lodged in Portland with a U.S. Marshall's bank robbery hold, in addition to the fugitive warrants that exist in California.
