Police blotter - April 21, 2011
Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:
4/16/11 9:13 a.m. A garage on Rembrandt Lane was broken into and a purse and driver's license were taken from a vehicle.
4/13/11 11:32 p.m. An unknown vehicle hit a parked car on Berwick Road, damaging its right front light and bumper.
4/12/11 4:47 p.m. A purse was swiped from a woman's car, which she had left unlocked.
4/15/11 1:03 p.m. Five bushes were pulled out of flowerpots in front of Jules of Morocco on N. State Street.
4/15/11 1:41 p.m. Mail was stolen from a location on Goodall Road.
4/16/11 4:30 p.m. A package containing a computer docking station, Blackberry cell phone parts, and an antenna was stolen from a location on Cherry Crest Avenue. Value was set at $600.
4/12/11 8:55 a.m. A salesperson became verbally abusive to a woman after showing up for an alarm bid.
4/12/11 10:01 a.m. A seventh grade girl was apparently followed by a man in a green truck as she walked down Jean Road.
4/12/11 10:44 a.m. A woman on the run from a domestic abuse situation is hiding locally and does not want the police involved.
4/12/11 11:45 a.m. A chihuahua has been running around on Oak Street since November.
4/12/11 11:55 a.m. A man in a white Chrysler drove up to a person in a crosswalk and honked his horn.
4/12/11 3:38 p.m. A man with no pants disturbed a woman on Parkview Drive.
4/12/11 4:42 p.m. Upset over unapproved windows at an apartment building, a woman has called the police seven times to complain.
4/12/11 4:47 p.m. A man tried to get his car taken off a lift on Jefferson Parkway. Officers were on hand to keep the peace.
4/12/11 5:48 p.m. A drunken woman yelling profanities has called a man at an apartment on Burnham Road at least 20 times during the past two hours.
4/12/11 6:40 p.m. A car on Timberline Drive was vandalized by being keyed and having rocks left all over it.
4/12/11 8:51 p.m. A woman locked herself and her children out into the cold night air.
4/13/11 7:55 a.m. A screen was removed from a room at the Fairfield Inn on Meadows Road, and the evidence points toward a burglar attempting to steal the TV off the wall. The hotel has put locks on windows and requested extra police patrols.
4/13/11 7:59 a.m. A woman is locked out of her house on Walking Woods Drive and is anxiously awaiting the appearance of Pop-A-Lock.
4/13/11 8:01 a.m. Criminal mischief occurred overnight at Millennium Plaza Park, with a tree well grate broken into pieces. Damage was set at $400.
4/13/11 9:07 a.m. A woman who lives on Burnham Road is upset about being locked out of her apartment and losing her dog.
4/13/11 9:59 a.m. An errant tri-colored beagle has been found and returned to its home on Clara Court, where the dog was given a joyous welcome by its owner.
4/13/11 10:04 a.m. An assault over a traffic altercation occurred on A Avenue.
4/13/11 11:12 a.m. A nasty apartment neighbor is continually flipping off a man and his wife. The situation is threatening to escalate from the finger level to the verbal level.
4/13/11 1:24 p.m. Gang graffiti was sprayed on the side of a pizza parlor.
4/13/11 1:24 p.m. A semi-truck was trapped on Boones Ferry Road and unable to get out. Traffic had to be stopped so it could get leave.
4/13/11 2:50 p.m. At least 20 threatening calls have been received by employees at a super market on S. State Street. The caller is screaming and aggressive and knows several of the employees by name.
4/13/11 4:44 p.m. A resident on Mulholland Drive keeps getting packages she did not order.
4/13/11 5:15 p.m. A message of 'Call right back or pay the consequences' was received by a man on Cervantes. The recipient tried to call back but there was no answer.
4/13/11 6:25 p.m. A crashing at the door and a ringing doorbell were heard by a woman on Atwater Lane at 5 a.m. in the morning. She was too scared to check on what it was.
4/14/11 7:10 a.m. A 12-year-old girl posted a potential suicide threat on a social network.
4/14/11 10:58 a.m. An estranged husband failed in a suicide attempt last night, but promised to try again tonight. Police are searching for the man, but his estranged wife does not want to be notified if he is found.
4/14/11 11:32 a.m. An estranged husband called his wife after he had been warned by police not to call her on pain of being charged with telephonic harassment.
4/14/11 2:03 p.m. A neighbor is afraid that the dog next door will not be taken care of while its owner is in jail, but his request to enter the apartment was refused by the LOPD. However, the situation will be looked into.
4/14/11 2:28 p.m. A daughter wants to talk with an officer about the marijuana she found in her parents' belongings.
4/14/11 7:16 p.m. A man is seeking police advice on whether or not he has rights to a house he has not lived in for weeks.
4/14/11 8:12 p.m. Police took the precaution of taking several guns for safe keeping to prevent a verbal argument featuring a male against a female and her daughter from escalating into violence.
4/14/11 11:39 p.m. Two 16-year-old juveniles were knocking over garbage cans on Kenny Street and Tualata Avenue.
4/15/11 10:33 a.m. A coyote was darting in and out of morning traffic on Kruse Way.
4/15/11 12:17 p.m. An upset, estranged husband is harassing his wife with telephone calls and emails.
4/15/11 1:55 p.m. Nobody has been taking care of a woman's dog at a condo ever since she was taken off to jail. However, her release is expected soon.
4/15/11 3:52 p.m. Three teens and a 12 year old started fighting at a location on Melrose Street.
4/16/11 12 midnight. A 7-year-old daughter went out of control and began throwing things around the house.
4/16/11 12:03 p.m. Police rushed to Kara Lane after receiving a call that a shooting had broken out. However, it turned out to be a man using a sledgehammer on his aluminum trailer, and the noise sounded just like gunshots.
4/16/11 8:05 p.m. Two drunken people came to a door on Carman Drive and requested a ride. An officer transported the twosome to a motel.
4/17/11 10:27 a.m. A man got out of a vehicle at McNary Park and took a whole handful of dog poop bags.
4/17/11 11:50 a.m. A drunken man was advised to leave a liquor store after he became testy about being refused when he tried to purchase liquor.
4/17/11 11:33 a.m. An ex-boyfriend keeps showing up at a woman's house despite her expressed desire that he get lost. He was removed and warned about telephonic harassment.
4/17/11 12:02 p.m. A voice emerged from a speaker phone in a hedge on Palisades Crest Drive and threatened a man that the Russian mob was coming to get him. In the background a female was heard laughing.
4/17/11 6:51 p.m. Two small but aggressive dogs attempted to attack a man on Pine Street. The dogs were returned to their owners, who were admonished about their misbehavior.
4/17/11 10:52 p.m. Two intruders in a backyard jumped to freedom before law officers arrived at Wax Wing Circle.
4/18/11 12:01 a.m. Two suspicious males wearing black hoodies were walking on a path that connects Wildwood and Hill Way. But they immedately turned around when encountering another person.
4/12/11 2:08 p.m. Bouncing checks are now being received by a person who got a job through Monster.Com.
4/14/11 1:53 p.m. Unauthorized charges on a credit card have been made in Oklahoma.
4/14/11 8:07 p.m. A woman reported that her ex-husband in Lake Oswego is using her Social Security number for taxes.
4/15/11 1:37 p.m. A church ministry was cheated out of $2,800.
4/15/11 2:20 p.m. A woman found out she had given her credit card number to a company that is not legitimate. The company called back and advised that her credit transaction didn't go through so they would not be able to provide services.
