LO girls take two from Pacers

The Lake Oswego girls tennis team earned a season sweep over Lakeridge, knocking off the Pacers twice in a period of five days.

The first meeting between the two teams was 6-2 with the Lakers winning three matches in both singles and doubles.

Lake Oswego won at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles.

Erinna O'Brien recorded a straight sets win as the team's top singles player as did Blair Dozois at No. 2 singles.

Claire Murphy kept Lake Oswego's momentum going with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.

But the Pacers broke up the sweep at No. 4 singles.

Julia Bartlett played a solid match for Lakeridge, rolling to a 6-3, 6-2 win.

In doubles, two matches went to three sets including No. 1 doubles, which was the match of the afternoon.

Lake Oswego's Kate Wardrop and Abby Meier lost the opening set to Lakeridge's Claire Valentine and Angela Bora in a tiebreaker but then rallied to win the next two sets, including a dramatic 7-5 win in the third.

Lake Oswego's Sophia Liu and Heather Aholt would win in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 but Lakeridge would pick up a win in No. 3 doubles.

The Pacers' team of Olivia Moore and Stacey Strovink won a close three-set battle over Lake Oswego's Jane Zahniser and Yasmine Genena. 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Lake Oswego remains unbeaten in league this year and is closing in on a league title but still has to play two matches against West Linn.
