Reynolds guard Renee Tzeo hit the game-winning basket with 1:36 to play to lift the Raiders to a 36-33 win against Grant in the semifinals of the Gophers' Spirit holiday tournament Friday, Dec. 28.

'It was really intense. Every pass and every shot mattered,' Tzeo said. 'We just worked the ball around until someone could get an open look, then I just tried to keep the same rhythm and follow through on the shot.'

The Raiders extended to a 36-33 lead when April Dobrinski scored on a short runner in the lane with :15 on the clock.

Grant nearly forced overtime when Krystal Forthan dribbled just past midcourt before letting loose at the buzzer. The ball ringed around the back of the rim before spinning out.

Host Gresham won Friday's other semifinal game with a 52-28 victory against Franklin.

After trading leads four times in the first quarter, the Gophers built a double-digit lead by halftime and put the game away with a 14-5 run to start the third period. Lauren Hager scored seven points in the period, highlighted by a 3-pointer from the left side.

Gresham and Reynolds faced off in Saturday's championship game for the second straight year. Results were not available.
