PHOENIX, Ariz. - Depth and conditioning paid dividends for Clackamas' girls basketball team Dec. 28-29, as the Cavaliers closed out a Phoenix holiday tournament with victories over Tolleson, Ariz. (53-39) and over Brentwood, Calif. (63-38).

With the score tied at 37-37 heading into the final quarter, the Cavaliers out-scored Tolleson 16-2 to finish on top.

Nursing a 37-34 lead, the Cavaliers outscored Brentwood 16-4 in the final period to put that game away.

Nine Clackamas players put points on the scoreboard in both games.

The Cavaliers fell behind early and lost to Desert Vista, Ariz. 57-50 in their tournament opener.

Becky Buhler, Alisa Griggs and Cameryn Calhoun were the Cavaliers' leading scorers for the tournament. Buhler averaged 12.3 points; Griggs and Calhoun both averaged 10.7.

Buhler (14 points) was high-point against Tolleson; Buhler and Griggs (12 points apiece) tied for high-point honors against Brentwood.
