Gladstone loses dual meet 63-12

GLADSTONE - Seniors Chris Henry (171) and Drew McNall (215) were winners for Gladstone in last week's dual wrestling meet with Class 4A wrestling powerhouse Estacada.

Leading 8-4, Henry put Logan Cheshier in a head-and-arm and pinned him with just 29 seconds remaining in their match.

McNall was aggressive from the start, and it took him just 34 seconds to earn a fall over Estacada's Noah Rodgers. McNall took Rodgers down straight to his back and then finished the job with a head-and-arm.

Estacada won the dual meet 63-12, but the meet was closer than the score might indicate.

Gladstone forfeited at two weights, and Gladiators Travis Turpin (119), Devon Renard (125) and Brett Shields (135) lost hotly contested matches.

The Gladiators meet Cascade on the road this evening, then they head for Redmond where they'll see many of the top wrestlers in the state at the Oregon Wrestling Classic.
