Croatian guitarist Ana Vidovic playing at Milwaukie's Portland Classic Guitar
Portland Classic Guitar in Milwaukie's 2008 concert series continues with Croatian guitarist Ana Vidovic, hailed by Acoustic Guitar Magazine as one of 'The New Virtuosos,' at 8 p.m. on Jan. 12. Vidovic hails from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia, and started playing guitar at the age of 5, and by 7 had given her first public performance. At the age of 11 she was performing internationally, and at 13 became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb where she studied with Professor Istvan Romer. Ana's reputation in Europe led to an invitation to study at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, USA, with Manuel Barrueco, from which she graduated in May 2003. The concert is at Portland Classic Guitar, 11923 SE McLoughlin Blvd. in Milwaukie. Adult general admission is $35, and includes appetizers from Milwaukie's Amadeus restaurant.
