Wind blows, sedan rolls over on bridge

Recently, West Linn police officers Brad Moyle and Matthew Lysaght were called to the scene of an injury crash on southbound I-205 near Hwy. 43.

A compact sedan had gone out of control due to weather conditions, and had reportedly bounced off the center median and right-side guard rail on the George Abernathy Bridge before rolling onto its side.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle that had flipped on its side after apparently hydroplaning on standing water and being blown sideways by strong wind gusts.

Emergency personnel from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue were able to extricate the driver, Christopher C. Lorenzo, 37, Tigard, but they had to cut the car apart to retrieve the front-seat passenger, Stephanie R. Clements, 20, Oregon City. She was transported to Willamette Falls Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both occupants of the car were wearing seatbelts, which minimized injuries.
