FOREST GROVE - The Tualatin High School girls basketball team wasted little time in starting a new league winning streak.
The Timberwolves, after seeing their 35-game winning streak come to an end on Friday, bounced back to blast Forest Grove 88-48 in a Pacific Conference game played Tuesday at Forest Grove High School.
With the win, Tualatin moved to 3-1 in Pacific Conference play, putting the Wolves (9-4 on the season) in a tie with Canby and Tigard for first place in the league standings.
Forest Grove dropped to 0-4 in league games with the setback.
Tualatin used a balanced scoring attack to get the big win in Tuesday's game. Junior guard Madeline Houston and sophomore wing Marissa Senger led six Timberwolf players in double figures with 15 points apiece.
Sophomore post Aly Brown scored 13 points, junior post Kelly Millager had 12 points, junior wing Julie Arndorfer had 11 points and senior post Janelle Cromie scored 10.
On Friday, Tualatin fell 60-44 to Canby in a league game played at Tualatin High School.
Senior Danielle Roisom had 10 points for the Wolves in that game and sophomore Meaghan Cichoke had nine points.
Tualatin will be back in action Friday when it plays at Newberg at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Wolves will face Tigard in a key league contest starting at 7:30 p.m. at Tigard High School.
