TIGARD - The Tigard High School girls swim team evened its Pacific Conference record at 1-1 by scoring a 98-72 win over Forest Grove in a meet held last Thursday at the Forest Grove Swim Center.

Junior Melissa Myers had a pair of individual wins to help the Tiger girls get the team victory. Myers won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2 minutes, 3.18 seconds and she had a winning time of 1:05.23 in the 100 butterfly.

Senior Kelsey Darr won the 200 individual medley in 2:29.68 and senior Emily Skach triumphed in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.06.

The Tigard girls also picked up a win 400 freestyle relay event.

The Tigard boys lost 100-68 to the Vikings. The loss gives the Tigers a 0-2 record in league meets.

Sophomore Tim Engvall, sophomore Tate Wagehaupt and junior Alex MacLean each had an individual win for the Tigers.

Engvall sprinted to victory in the 50 freestyle in 23.53. Wagehaupt won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.43 and MacLean had a winning mark of 59.66 in the 100 backstroke.

The Tiger teams will be back in action today (Thursday) when they face Tualatin in a league meet scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at the Tualatin Swim Center.
