Gresham police arrested a man whom they suspected of robbing a bank in the 200 block of East Powell Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.
Jack Christopher Burch III of Gresham walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money shortly before his arrest. He was arrested one block from the scene of the crime.
He allegedly robbed the bank by issuing a note to a teller demanding money.
Sgt. Claudio Grandjean, Gresham Police public information officer, said the robbery note contained the suspect's signed name and address.
'We seem to be leading the way in stupid criminals lately,' Grandjean said.
