The Freddy Jones Foundation will hold a bowling fundraiser Jan. 31 at Players, 17880 S.W. Lower Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego.

Jones, a former Barlow High and University of Oregon star, is a one-time Trail Blazer who plays for the New York Knicks. The event, called 'Lucky Strike Night,' will start at 7:30 p.m., with doors open at 7 p.m. Each lane sponsor will get the chance to bowl with an NBA celebrity and bid in the silent auction. • Midfielder Alex Nimo, 17, from Benson High and FC Portland was picked 17th overall by Real Salt Lake in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft last week. Nimo was the third player chosen in the second round. 'The potential for him and his upside is astronomical,' coach Jason Kreis tells the Deseret Morning News.
