• Goalie Kurtis Mucha insists that he did not ask to be traded, but he asked management to improve the team in front of him. … Coach Rich Kromm says the released Viktor Sjodin and Matt Betker were going to lose ice time with the addition of Phil Gervais (who has three goals now) and Colin Reddin. The team tried to move Sjodin to another team, to no avail, Kromm says. … Defenseman Ryan Kerr has dislocated both shoulders, the right one in a fight that led to his being sidelined, and the left one on a body check after his return. 'Hopefully, I'll be back by the end of the month,' he says. … Kromm says some players have developed the character and work ethic that he wants to see, while others 'take a ride sometimes and be a passenger. Can't have that.' … Both Gervais goals against Seattle on Saturday were on rebounds. 'Both times we shot the puck and he drove to the net and picked up a rebound,' Kromm says. 'That's what we preach; he benefited from it.'
