Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

1/8/08 7:30 a.m. There was a two-vehicle accident on Bergis and Stafford roads. Les Schwab representatives were called to help with a flat tire. One driver was cited for failure to yield.

1/10/08 5:40 p.m. An auto struck a pedestrian on McVey Avenue and South Shore Boulevard. The injured pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital.

1/13/08 6:36 a.m. A vehicle slammed into a parked car on Fox Run and Timberline Drive. The driver was cited for failure to avoid a parked car.

1/14/08 3:20 p.m. A UPS driver witnessed a U-haul truck driver hit another vehicle. The two parties exchanged information. The damage was less than $1,500.

1/12/08 12:06 a.m. Near the Albertson's on South State Street, Eric Alan Holt, 55, was arrested on suspicion of DUII.

1/14/08 1:41 a.m. A man called police to say his ex-girlfriend came by his place and beat him up. She then left in a white van.

1/14/08 5:19 a.m. On Lakeview Boulevard, two laptops were taken from a home sometime during the weekend.

1/8/08 2:59 a.m. At the 7-11 on Boones Ferry Road, a cab driver said someone had broken out his windshield and left. Police could not find the person.

1/8/08 9:38 a.m. Six golf pins were stolen from the Lake Oswego Municipal Golf Course. Total loss was $660.

1/11/08 5:42 p.m. At the Safeway on A Avenue, a man stole a basketful of meat. Police checked surveillance video to confirm this.

1/11/08 7:33 a.m. During the night, someone broke into a car on Bangy Road and stole a printer and a pair of boots.

1/11/08 9:50 a.m. At Crowne Plaza on Kruse Oaks Drive, a Dodge truck was broken into and a cell phone and satellite receiver were stolen.

1/11/08 2:54 p.m. At Azteca restaurant on Mercantile Drive, a customer pulled a dine-and-dash. He was in a black Mercedes. Police caught up with the man and cited him for second-degree theft.

1/11/08 11:37 p.m. A purse was taken from an undisclosed location, then found in the bathroom with $200 missing.

1/13/08 1:09 p.m. A stop sign was reportedly stolen on Hobbit Court. When police arrived they found the stop sign still on a downed pole, but street signs were missing. A temporary stop sign was put up.

1/14/08 7:28 a.m. On Kerr Parkway, a blue VW Passat was broken into and the contents of the glove compartment and a bag of instruction books were stolen.

1/14/08 4:17 p.m. On McVey Avenue, a DeLonghi-Rialto coffee maker was stolen. The silver-colored maker was valued at $1,499. The suspect left in a Chevy Cavalier.

1/8/08 8:32 a.m. There was a report of road rage involving a silver Jeep Cherokee that was tailgating and making dangerous passes.

1/08/08 7:04 p.m. A reckless driver was traveling on Kruse Way, tapping the brakes and veering on the road.

1/9/08 12:29 p.m. Construction on a house on Upper Drive appeared to have stopped for two months. Police identified a couple minor ordinance violations to be addressed.

1/9/08 3:41 p.m. A caller was worried about a spouse who was late coming home. But the spouse returned home before police got there.

1/9/08 4:11 p.m. Concerned about a relative's driving ability, a person contacted police for advice.

1/10/08 9:35 a.m. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle, while the car owner was in Canada. The car owner also reported the theft in Canada.

1/10/08 6:40 p.m. Police attempted to locate a missing Alzheimer's patient, who was from the Aurora area and missing in Clackamas County. The patient was in a green Ford Explorer.

1/11/08 1:14 a.m. At a local bar, two people came in, apparently drunk, and were refused more alcohol. They left in a green Jeep.

1/11/08 9:07 a.m. There was a goose on the side of the road on Boones Ferry, possibly with an injured wing. Police found the goose and discovered it was moving fine.

1/11/08 9:28 a.m. A large excavation hole was found on property where a house was being excavated. Because it was deemed a nuisance by police, the owner was given a warning.

1/11/08 11:01 a.m. At a home on Greenridge Drive, there was a request to check on an elderly female who did not answer her door. Police found she was sleeping and did not have her hearing aid in.

1/11/08 12:15 p.m. At Freepons Park, three dogs were running off-leash.

1/11/08 2:56 p.m. A woman complained that she was receiving harassing calls and e-mails from a man. An officer responded and found it was an Internet scam, according to a police report.

1/11/08 3:05 p.m. Near Forest Hills Elementary School, a person found porn in the street. The person threw the porn away and called police to tell them.

1/11/08 3:14 p.m. While he was on a bus with his girlfriend, a man said she slapped him after he told her to quit smoking on the bus. They got off the bus, apparently the wrong venue for an intervention, and were last seen walking on Highway 43.

1/11/08 4:12 p.m. A parent called police to say that his son, who is 10, had been bothered by high school kids while riding his bike to school.

1/11/08 4:23 p.m. A woman called to say she was in her truck while towers were towing it away. All parties remained calm until an officer arrived.

1/11/08 5:40 p.m. Police were dispatched to the home of a man having problems with his 16-year-old son, who was upset after being disciplined and was breaking items and scratched his mother.

1/11/08 6:28 p.m. At the Mormon temple on Kruse Oaks Boulevard, a Jeep CJ5 was seen four-wheeling on the property. The Jeep yanked a chain off a fence. Police contacted the owner and a civil agreement was reached.

1/12/08 11:11 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a man in his 90s who had not picked up his mail in three days and the caller thought he had seen the man in bed. Police came through an open window and found no one home.

1/12/08 11:38 a.m. A 10-year-old boy was seen driving a white SUV with his mother in the passenger seat on Boones Ferry Road.

1/12/08 Noon. An unknown person rang a doorbell on North Shore Road and was seen walking around a home.

1/12/08 1:28 p.m. A woman said she found a silver bicycle on Botticelli Street and wanted someone to come get it. Police came and got it.

1/12/08 2:36 p.m. A screwdriver and empty beer can were found in a woman's yard on Bonaire Avenue. The woman said it appeared as if someone was trying to open one of her windows.

1/12/08 2:51 p.m. A man who was giving an estimate on gutters on Chandler Place said he was solicited by another man, who said he was being stalked and someone was trying to kill him. Police contacted the second man and found they had given him a similar warning to stop earlier.

1/12/08 4:42 p.m. An individual on La Mesa Court was receiving threatening text messages.

1/12/08 7 p.m. While dog sitting, a man said the dog escaped about 40 minutes prior to his call. The blond cocker spaniel named Simba was later found and reportedly OK.

1/12/08 11:27 p.m. A man and woman were seen fighting in a red convertible on Carman Drive. It's not clear whether they found the up-down switch for the pop-top.

1/13/08 8:58 a.m. On Jefferson Terrace, a man was seen walking through the neighborhood looking in people's windows. He was in his 40s and wearing a trench coat.

1/13/08 11:02 a.m. A resident on Hillside Court complained of a two-year problem with a barking dog.

1/13/08 3:56 p.m. A man in his 40s, wearing a red sweater and gray sweat pants was seen urinating behind Speedy Linguine.

1/13/08 5:31 p.m. On Sheerbrook Place, a woman's 15-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter were arguing. The two were arguing about clothing. One of them had a broomstick - the hottest fashion accessory of 2008.

1/13/08 8:22 p.m. An 11-year-old was standing at a bus stop on Boones Ferry Road for 30 minutes.

1/14/08 8:13 a.m. A male child came into a store on Pilkington Road and asked if there was another exit. A silver SUV pulled up, and a man from the SUV began yelling and then hit the child. They left a few minutes later.

1/14/08 3:25 p.m. A man called police asking them to check on his wife, who had driven off that day, distraught after hearing bad medical news. Police contacted both parties and the man drove his wife home.

1/8/08 10:45 a.m. A person's credit card was illegally used online in Texas and California.

1/12/08 12:31 p.m. A woman on Pioneer Court said her credit card was used to buy a plane ticket.
