Wood Village roadway won't reopen until temperatures rise
Officials have closed an icy stretch of Northeast 238th Drive in Wood Village between Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast Glisan Street for the next several days, according to a news release.
Water from an underground spring leaked onto the road and built up a thick layer of ice. The road will be closed until temperatures rise and the ice can be removed.
Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, such as Northeast 223rd Avenue and Southwest 257th Avenue between Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast Glisan Street. Residents will still be able to access side streets between Northeast Glisan Street and Northeast Holladay Street and between Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast Treehill Drive.
