OES boys and Jesuit girls are tops in skiing
MT. HOOD - The Oregon Episcopal boys and Jesuit girls teams set the pace in week two of Metro League skiing.
OES won the boys team title in giant slalom at Ski Bowl Saturday, with Jesuit a close second, Sunset third and Southridge fourth.
OES' Chris Chapman (1:31.59) and Austin Ilg (1:33.19) paced their team by finishing second and third, while Jesuit's Colin Yost took top honors at 1:31.22.
Other top local finishers included: Jesuit's Michael Payne, 4th in 1:34.24; Beaverton's Spencer Allen, 6th in 1:36.11; Southridge's Steven Lantz, 7th in 1:36.47; Sunset's Jason Patterson, 8th in 1:36.65; Aloha's Sean McDonald, 33rd in 1:55.61; and Valley Catholic's Per Christsen, 34th in 1:56.51.
In the girls race, it was OES' Alecia McCord who finished on top with a time of 2:45.22 to edge Sunset's Maggie Greene - she was second at 2:53.63.
But it was Jesuit that ruled the team front, thanks to Kathryn Wessinger's third-place finish in 2:57.49 and teammate Anna Leitschuh's fourth-place effort in 2:58.07.
Other top local finishers included: Westview's Jacquelyn Wheeler, 6th in 3:05.26; Southridge's Samantha Bennetti, 7th in 3:06.03; and Beaverton's Brittany Oresta, 12th in 3:13.65.
