Suspects arrested in brutal robbery at Greshams La Bella Esposa clothing store
Two men were arrested on Friday, Jan. 25, in connection with a robbery and assault at La Bella Esposa that terrorized the store's lone employee on duty, according to Gresham police.
The incident unfolded on Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, when Gresham resident Marco Aurelio Ramirez, 26, allegedly pushed the victim into a dressing room and demanded her car keys at gunpoint. Ramirez then allegedly ordered the victim into the bathroom, but she refused. Meanwhile, Gresham resident Benjamin Chavez Magana, 29, allegedly stole $7 from the cash register, and kicked the victim in the stomach, face and head. The two suspects tried to force the victim into the bathroom, but the victim repelled them.
After linking them to the crime, Gresham police apprehended Ramirez on Wednesday, Jan. 23, and Magana on Thursday, Jan. 24. Both are lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of first-degree robbery.
