Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Calling all young maidens of Sherwood

The Robin Hood Festival Association is seeking candidates for the 2008 Robin Hood Festival's Maid Marian Court

Girls first through fourth grade and freshman through senior year in high school are hereby invited to try out for the 2008 Robin Hood Festival's Maid Marian Court.

Those girls eligible and interested in trying out for this year's court need to live within the Sherwood School District area. The girls can attend public or private schools or be homeschooled, it doesn't matter.

Applications for interviews will be available by Feb. 1 at the following locations: Sherwood High School; Archer Glen Grade School; Hopkins Grade School, Middleton Grade School; the Sherwood Public Library and on our festival Web site at www.robinhoodfestival.com.

Completed applications are due by April 1.

Return address information will be made available on the informational letter attached to the application form.

Interviews for the selection of this year's court will take place on April 5beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Sherwood Bible Fellowship Church, 23550 S.W. Pine St. (just off Sunset near the soccer park.)

As in years past, we will have a presentation and coronation of Maid Marian and her court the evening during the early part of May at the public library in Old Town Sherwood.

The exact time and date of the coronation will be advertised in the April edition of this newspaper. The court will then assist the festival association as official Ambassadors of our city by participating in community parades and civic/volunteer events during the year including our own Robin Hood Festival, which takes place the third weekend in July and again in December during the lighting of Downtown Sherwood's Holiday Tree.
