Finals shortened due to snow
Sandy High school students take exams on one day instead of two
Sandy High School students will take all their semester final exams on Thursday, thanks to the snow that canceled three days of classes this week.
Finals were scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 30, and Thursday, Jan. 31, and district officials noted that a snow day on Thursday might have canceled the exams entirely.
Three buses were on snow routes on Thursday, but the school district was otherwise back to normal. Any students who still have difficulties in taking finals will be accommodated, though.
"If there's kids that miss stuff or special circumstances, we'll work with them," said Julia Monteith, Communications Director for the Oregon Trail School District. "We'll still be dealing with this stuff next week."
Teachers are expected to prepare grades on Friday, while students throughout the district have the day off. The next semester begins on Monday, Feb. 4.
The district does not anticipating the snow days to effect the end of the school year.
