The driver of an armored transport vehicle received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 26 west of Government Camp on Friday afternoon.
According to Senior Trooper Duane Larson, at about 3:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, an armored transport vehicle from AT Systems Northwest, driven by Jerry Allen Cobb, 24, of Beaverton, was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 51.1 negotiating a left curve when it lost control and traveled across the eastbound lanes.
The armored vehicle struck the eastbound guardrail and then collided with an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by West Linn resident Kathleen B. Avis, 52. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes for 45 minutes.
Cobb received minor injuries and was transported by AMR ambulance to Portland Adventist Hospital. His passenger, Eric L. Smallwood of Clackamas, was not injured. Both were using safety restraints.
Avis and her husband, William, 61, were using safety restraints and received minor injuries. Both declined transport for treatment.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Government Camp office are completing the investigation.
