Its Jesuit, Lantz and Greene

MT. HOOD - Southridge's Steven Lantz and Sunset's Maggie Greene won the battles Saturday in week three of the Metro League ski season, but Jesuit's teams won the wars.
Lantz skied off with top honors in the boys slalom at SkiBowl, posting a time of 1 minute, 11.82 seconds for his two runs, enough to win by 2-1/2 seconds over runner-up George Glass of Jesuit (1:14.18).
Glass was one of four top-seven finishers for Jesuit in the race, teaming with Michael Payne (third in 1:15.32), Toryn Slater (sixth in 1:16.59) and Connor Cahill (seventh in 1:16.97) to lift Jesuit to the best overall team time of 3:46.09.
In the team race, Southridge was second overall, followed by Sunset, Oregon Episcopal, Beaverton, Tigard and Glencoe.
Other top local individuals included: Southridge's Sam Campbell (fourth in 1:15.87); Sunset's Andrew Howell (fourth in 1:15.87) and James Cooper (10th in 1:23.61); OES' Pip Allen (eighth in 1:22.37) and Christopher Chapman (ninth in 1:23.06); Beaverton's Sean McMahon (12th in 1:23.67); Westview's Dan Birman (15th in 1:25.26); and Aloha's Sean McDonald (22nd in 1:35.37).
The girls race followed a similar pattern, with Greene taking first in 1:15.13 to easily outpace runner-up Isabelle Wuilloud of Jesuit (1:20.48), though Jesuit won the team race at 4:02.53.
Southridge's girls were second overall, followed by Sunset, Glencoe, OES, Beaverton and Westview.
Jesuit also got strong efforts from Lindsay Brewis (third in 1:21.20), Kathryn Wessinger (fourth in 1:21.37) and Anna Leitschuh (sixth in 1:21.81).
Other top local finishers were: OES' Ashlynn Campbell (fifth in 1:21.76); Southridge's Samantha Benetti (seventh in 1:22.17) and Emily Christensen (ninth in 1:23.71); Beaverton's Brittany Oreste (10th in 1:25.82); and Westview's Jacquelyn Wheeler (27th in 1:47.44).
On Saturday, the Metro League will host the Evan Wood Memorial Giant Slalom Race at Ski Bowl.
