Boys basketball: The Wolves win 44-42 to move to 6-0 in Pacific Conference play
TUALATIN - The Tualatin High School boys basketball team remained unbeaten in league play - by a slim margin.
The Timberwolves, with senior Matt Losli sinking the game-winning shot before the final buzzer sounded, scored a 44-42 win over Canby in a Pacific Conference contest played Tuesday at Tualatin High School.
With the victory, the Wolves moved to 6-0 in league play (11-3 overall), keeping them two games ahead of second-place Tigard in the standings. Canby fell to 3-3 in league play and to 8-7 on the season.
Losli topped all scorers in Tuesday's contest with 19 points. Junior Eric Kjemperud added seven points for the Wolves. Junior Cody Hickey paced Canby with 18 points.
Prior to the win over Canby, Tualatin posted a 71-47 win over McMinnville in a game played Friday at McMinnville High School. Senior Mick Bies and junior Anthony Freeman, Jr., each scored 14 points to lead Tualatin in that win. Losli and junior Brandon Troxel each scored 10.
