Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:
2/18/08 12:52 a.m. Wesley M. Hulden, 25, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Hemlock Street.
2/13/08 3:36 p.m. At Crowne Plaza, a GPS device was taken from a rental car.
2/14/08 9:14 a.m. A CD changer case and six CDs were stolen from a BMW on Coventry Court.
2/14/08 11:11 a.m. A bike was stolen from North State Street.
2/17/08 12:41 p.m. A person's Toyota 4 Runner on Wembley Park Road was broken into and $120 was taken. There was no damage to the car.
2/15/08 4:34 p.m. Items were taken from a house on Chapin Way earlier in the day and extra patrols were requested.
2/14/08 4:22 p.m. A two-car accident occurred on First Street and A Avenue. There were no injuries or citations.
2/15/08 7:49 a.m. There were no injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Glenmorrie Drive.
2/15/08 11:22 p.m. A traffic accident occurred at Centerpointe Drive and Kruse Oaks. No one was injured and one driver was cited for making an illegal turn.
2/16/08 1:29 p.m. A blue Jetta rolled into a property on Vale Court. There were no injuries, but there was damage to the grass and shrubs.
2/12/08 11:30 a.m. Illegal dumping was taking place on Fourth Street.
2/12/08 12:47 p.m. A black Jetta was seen on First Street, parked on the sidewalk and blocking a wheelchair ramp. A caller could not get to his vehicle parked in the handicapped space.
2/12/08 1:36 p.m. A young child called in a medical request for his mother. An officer assisted with the Lake Oswego Fire Department. The child went with the mother to the hospital.
2/12/08 1:59 p.m. A caller wanted information about tinting vehicle windows.
2/12/08 2:05 p.m. Occupants in a car on Boones Ferry Road were honking and making lewd sexual gestures.
2/12/08 5:21 p.m. A woman wanted advice about her ex-boyfriend who was calling and harassing her from Long Beach, Calif.
2/12/08 6:54 p.m. Garbage had just been dumped on McVey Avenue and people were driving through it.
2/13/08 9:01 a.m. There were large rocks in the right-of-way on Eighth Street. An officer contacted the person responsible who then moved the rocks.
2/13/08 9:38 a.m. At the State Farm office on E Avenue, a person complained that an elderly Lake Oswego resident was trespassing.
2/13/08 9:41 a.m. A resident on Oswego Summit found glass pipes that were possibly used for taking drugs. When police checked, they found the pipes were glass blowing remnants and not drug related.
2/13/08 10:27 a.m. A fight broke out when a man would not let a woman have certain items as she was moving out of One Jefferson Parkway apartments.
2/13/08 11:02 a.m. An injured deer was seen on Iron Mountain Boulevard. An officer found the deer and determined it had a good chance of survival and left it alone.
2/13/08 11:17 a.m. A caller to Designs of the Interior on North State Street asked for a designer by name and then started talking inappropriately.
2/13/08 1:25 p.m. A caller said he had lost his driver's license between Portland International Airport and Lake Oswego.
2/13/08 2:20 p.m. At a business on Kerr Parkway, a silver Mitsubishi Lancer was keyed while in the underground parking lot.
2/13/08 4:02 p.m. Two females were walking on Pilkington Road and noticed that a man on a bike appeared to be watching them.
2/13/08 6:04 p.m. A caller's 11-year-old daughter received two pornographic picture messages from an unknown adult male. An officer contacted the sender, who said the images were not intended for the 11 year old. He was warned for possible telephone harassment.
2/13/08 8:35 p.m. A dead cat was found on North State Street, with no collar or tags.
2/13/08 9:21 p.m. A cab driver dropped off a drunken person on A Avenue. The person got into a silver Toyota pick-up and drove away.
2/14/08 7:36 a.m. There was an ongoing problem with a teenaged driver coming through the neighborhood on Tanglewood Drive and stops and picks up another teenager.
2/14/08 7:38 a.m. A deer was injured on Country Club Road and then moved to an island near the Oswego Lake Country Club maintenance building. An officer found the deer on the island and determined the deer had not eaten and was lying down. The officer left a message with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife for assessment.
2/14/08 9:33 a.m. A low-hanging branch on Westview Drive was hitting the tops of trucks and SUVs.
2/14/08 12:05 p.m. An officer issued a warning to a woman on Boones Ferry Road who parked in a handicapped spot. The handicapped parking lines had faded but there was a handicapped parking sign on the wall.
2/14/08 12:18 p.m. A counselor at Waluga Junior High School said a student was assaulted at her residence. An officer contacted the girl and determined the assault happened in the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department's jurisdiction.
2/14/08 12:59 p.m. In a call from the Lake Oswego Sailing Club, a caller said that a woman was stuck in the water, but then said to disregard because all was OK.
2/14/08 1:03 p.m. A silver Toyota was seen on Highway 43 traveling fast and tailgating, also zigzagging in and out of traffic.
2/14/08 1:14 p.m. A vehicle which was unfamiliar to the area around Del Prado was seen parked on the street. A caller was concerned, since there had been burglaries in the area.
2/14/08 3:23 p.m. A vehicle was seen swerving lane to lane on McVey Avenue. It looked to be an electricity-guzzling green Toyota Prius.
2/14/08 7:50 p.m. A caller complained about being harassed by his ex-partner. He was concerned that things were out of place at his residence and thought his partner was in a car near his residence.
2/14/08 8:44 p.m. Juveniles were seen walking around on Lakeview Boulevard with pellet or BB guns.
2/14/08 10:13 p.m. Police followed a possible DUII on Oakridge Road. An officer visited with the driver and discovered she was OK and not intoxicated.
2/15/08 1:16 a.m. At Lakeridge High School, there was a report of a person with a flashlight on the tower near the baseball field. An officer found it was a cell phone employee working on the tower.
2/15/08 9:24 a.m. An older female was standing in the intersection of McVey and State Street for 15 minutes.
2/15/08 9:58 a.m. There was a false alarm at a residence on Greenridge Drive. A caller said his girlfriend set it off after waking up. House alarms usually go off when people are trying to sneak in rather than sneak out.
2/15/08 10:56 a.m. A person was going door-to-door on Bryant Road and was standing around the neighborhood. The subject left in a van before police arrived. He was leaving carpet-cleaning flyers on doors.
2/15/08 11:34 a.m. Two cars on Alyssa Terrace were cited for parking more than 12 inches from the curb. Residents are advised to keep a measuring stick in their cars when parking here.
2/15/08 1:34 p.m. Two juveniles were reportedly tossing a ball into traffic. Police couldn't find the juveniles or the ball.
2/15/08 2:10 p.m. A caller complained that a man had been in a park on Quarry Road for two days. He was sitting on swings and watching children and their families. He was described as being in his 30s or 40s, thin and balding.
2/15/08 4:47 p.m. An elderly woman reportedly snuck out the back window of her home and went to a neighbor's house.
2/15/08 5:23 p.m. Extra patrols were requested for motorists who were running stop signs in cars, skateboards and bikes on Canyon Drive.
2/15/08 6:57 p.m. A possibly drunken driver in a gray Toyota was followed by police on Boones Ferry. Police turned over the surveillance to state police when the car reached Interstate 5.
2/15/08 7:29 p.m. A group of teens were at a park on Fourth Street, hanging out at the picnic table. One came to a person's door and asked for a condom. The group was playing a game of truth or dare. Sometimes it's better to tell the truth.
2/16/08 3:50 a.m. At One Jefferson Parkway apartments, an officer checked on a resident who was not answering his door and had recently attempted suicide by drug overdose. All was OK.
2/16/08 9:35 a.m. A drunken person with a flat tire was at the Shell station on North State Street, asking for assistance.
2/16/08 10:19 a.m. Juveniles were setting off fireworks and blew the cables off a garage door on Aspen Street.
2/16/08 10:31 a.m. Tualatin Police asked Lake Oswego police to check on a woman who had left the Tualatin Jiffy Lube saying she was going to go home and cut herself. Police checked and she was OK.
2/16/08 12:08 p.m. A caller reported hearing someone yelling for help and then heard a crashing noise on Upper Drive. Turned out, a person nearby had fallen off a ladder.
2/16/08 2:03 p.m. A caller said there was water dripping from the condo above his on Eaglecrest Drive. When the upstairs neighbor came home, an argument broke out between the two.
2/12/08 3:36 p.m. Three fraudulent charges were found on a person's credit card. The account and charges were canceled, the caller said.
2/13/08 2:36 p.m. A woman said someone had changed her address at the post office.
2/15/08 1:49 p.m. A person called police to complain about a fraudulent Pay Pal transaction.
