Downtown gets a touch of green
Crowds flock to Forest Grove for First Wednesday activities
Merchants in Forest Grove ushered in the month of March with a green-themed First Wednesday last week. Although there wasn't any green beer, there were bagpipes (at the John L. Scott Market Center) and lucky charms (at the Cork and Barrel Wine Shop).
Event organizers also lined up plenty of live performances for the after-hours celebration. Hayley Evers, of the Banks Performing Arts, danced for a crowd at Jordy's Bar and Grill (photographed through the restaurant window) while Everybody's Hometown Band kept patrons' toes tapping at Joe's Ice Cream, Deli and Catering.
Meanwhile, a fund-raising event for the Pacific University crew team at Urban Decanter featured a whole evening of music, including fiddler Jessica Cornwell.
Danielle French, co-owner of the Main Street wine shop, said the fun lasted until 10 p.m. 'It was a great evening,' said French, who saw a lot of new faces in addition to her regular customers. 'All the music went really well. We've asked Jessica to come back and play again.'
