Alec Ramsey and David Hinton show off their medals after last week’s state ski competition. Hinton won the slalom event and finished second overall while Ramsey took ninth overall.

The West Linn ski teams ended a terrific season in fine fashion last week.

The boys team finished third in state, narrowly edging out Summit to earn that spot.

West Linn was led by David Hinton who took second place overall in the state behind Bend's Cole Timm. However, Hinton was the state champion in the slalom competition, winning that event by nearly a second over Timm.

Hinton took third place in the giant slalom to earn his placement.

He finished with a combined time of 3:50.60.

But the Lions had a number of other outstanding performances during the competition.

Alec Ramsey finished ninth overall taking ninth in the giant slalom and 16th in the slalom.

Sean Campbell finished in 35th overall and Alex Otey came in 54th.

That was good enough for third place behind Bend and Jesuit. The Lions topped Summit by just four hundredths of a second.

In the girls' competition, West Linn took 16th. Maddie Martus came in 23rd overall with her best time coming in the giant slalom.

Jackie Steeh, Kristine Eberhard and Hanna Cotter also contributed to West Linn's finish.
