DECISION - Councilors are due to vote tomorrow on whether Cornelius should be able to annex 161 acres of land along its northern border
Metro councilors will vote Thursday on whether or not Cornelius should get to annex 161 acres of land to the north.
The city petitioned Metro last year for a revision of its Urban Growth Boundary, saying that the city was in dire need of shovel-ready industrial land.
A Metro staff report issued shortly after the application was critical of Cornelius' arguments. But a Metro hearings officer recommended that the regional government approve the UGB expansion on March 3. A similar UGB expansion was initially approved by Metro council, but then dismissed a year later.
The meeting will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 27 in the council chambers at Metro Regional Center, 600 N.E. Grand Ave., Portland.
