Gaston woman reigns as dairy princess
CORONATION - Linfield College student will be crowned April 11 in Verboort
Jennifer Wismer, a Gaston native, will reign as the 2008 Washington County Dairy Princess-Ambassador after her ceremonial coronation on Friday, April 11.
Emma Larkins, Washington County's 2007 dairy princess, will crown Wismer as her successor.
The new dairy princess is the daughter of Fred and Janet Wismer, who operate a dairy in Gaston. She will graduate from Linfield College in McMinnville this spring with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
The Washington County Dairy Women will host the 46th annual coronation banquet in Harris Hall in Verboort. 'Barn Dance' will be the theme for this year's coronation, which will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m.
The buffet dinner will include ham, chicken breasts, meatballs, scalloped potatoes, green beans, tossed salad and rolls with apple crisp and ice cream for dessert.
