The Lake Oswego Rotary Club held the finals of its 'Four Way Test' Speech Competition at their meeting Feb. 11. The finalists from Lake Oswego Junior High and Waluga Junior High each delivered their speeches to the group.
David Grossman of Lake Oswego Junior High was named the winner based on his speech relating Rotary's Four Way Test to the recent controversy surrounding Snowball the deer.
Waluga Junior High student Jenn Nelson presented an equally impressive speech about the effect one penny can have on an entire village, relating to the book 'Three Cups of Tea,' from the Lake Oswego Reads program.
Grossman's win allows him to move on to compete against other students from throughout Rotary District 5100.
