Community Work Day planned
Local businesses asked to support Foundation fundraiser
Students from both Lake-ridge and Lake Oswego high schools are joining forces to raise money for the Lake Oswego School District Foundation in the second annual 'Community Work Day,' to be held April l8.
To participate in Community Work Day, students are asked to arrange with local businesses and/or community members to work for a minimum of four hours on the afternoon of April 18 (or another mutually agreeable date). The business or individual agrees to pay the student $8 per hour for the work performed and the money is then donated back to the Lake Oswego District Foundation.
Students can be hired for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, landscaping, painting, cleaning, organizing, childcare, office work, data entry, telephone calls, etc.
To participate, students and their parents, as well as businesses and individuals 'hiring' students must complete Community Work Day paperwork.
