NEWBERG - The Tualatin High School girls golf team stormed to victory at the first Pacific Conference tournament of the year, held Tuesday at Chahalem Glenn in Newberg.
The Timberwolves claimed the top spot at the tourney with a team score of 349 strokes. Canby was second at 435 and Tigard placed third with a mark of 438.
'It was a very good day,' Tualatin coach Nancy Lee said. 'I'm very pleased, and proud of the girls.'
Tualatin sophomore Seisha Telles earned tournament medallist honors with a two-over-par score of 74.
Junior Aim Trakulchang, an exchange student from Thailand, placed second individually with a score of 85. Tualatin senior Sophie Corr placed third with a mark of 90.
Also for the Wolves, junior Sarah West carded a 100 and junior Ashleigh Brinkman had a 110, which included a 48 on the back nine holes.
For Tigard, freshman Hanna Ha led the way with a score of 105. Senior Olivia Hurd shot a 107, junior Nisreen Malik had a 113, junior Chandell Culley shot a 113 and junior Bethany Hansen had a 117.
