Next: The final preseason game is April 11 at the University of Portland against the Pilot men.
• Midfielder Andrew Gregor, at 32 the oldest current Timber, has had a remarkable run in the United Soccer Leagues First Division (previously A-League), and coach Gavin Wilkinson says there's no reason why Gregor can't have another big year.
'I expect him to raise his game to another level,' Wilkinson says. 'He knows what it takes to succeed, and if he wants to keep playing, he's got to keep doing it.'
Gregor should have more scorers in front of him than he did last year, when he led the club in goals (eight) and assists (five).
• First-year Portland goalie Jordan James, 25, already has racked up coaching experience. He's been an assistant coach at Division III St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y., where he played; the University of Cincinnati; and San Jacinto College in Houston. 'And I really like youth coaching,' he says.
