CCC plans alumni tourney, barbecue

OREGON CITY - Clackamas Community College's volleyball program has planned a spring volleyball tournament and alumni day for Saturday, April 26.

CCC coach Kathie Woods is asking former Clackamas Community College players to help get the word out and to contact assistant coach Lindsay Schiely if they will be able to attend.

The day will feature a tournament, which will be followed by a barbecue. The tournament will include a CCC alumni team, along with teams from Whatcom, Centralia, Wenatchee Valley, Treasure Valley and Clackamas.

Linwood to host 5-k, mile runs

MILWAUKIE - Linwood Elementary School's annual parade will be preceded by 5-kilometer and one-mile runs the morning of Saturday, May 17.

The 5-kilometer run is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., with the one-mile dash to follow at 9:25 a.m. Same-day registration is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. The parade starts at 10 a.m.

Proceeds of the runs will benefit Linwood Elementary arts programs.

Registration fees paid before May 11 are $5 for the mile dash, $10 for the 5-kilometer run, or $25 per family. Add an additional $8 per entrant if a race tee-shirt is desired.

The registration fee will be $5 more for those registering after May 10 or on the day of the race.
