Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:
3/21/08 12:39 p.m. A two-car accident on Lakeview Boulevard left no one injured. One driver was cited with a failure to yield when entering a roadway and the other was cited for careless driving.
3/24/08 9:06 a.m. A GMC Yukon was entered via an unlocked door. A cell phone and a bag of candy were taken.
3/27/08 8:47 a.m. On Seventh Street, a black Scion was hit at a stop sign. The driver of the car that hit the Scion was advised she will be responsible for the damage.
3/26/08 10:26 a.m. A woman's charcoal gray bicycle was stolen on Rosewood Street.
3/26/08 3:10 p.m. At Gubanc's on Boones Ferry Road, a Toyota Highlander was broken into and a briefcase with a laptop and InFocus projector were stolen.
3/27/08 4:14 p.m. The detached garage of a home on Maple Street was broken into and a welder valued at $500 was stolen.
3/28/08 10:59 a.m. A person reported that his backpack, clothes and Mount Hood Meadows snowboarding pass were stolen. Estimate value was $400.
3/28/08 11:48 a.m. A man's rental car was gone through the prior night. A cell phone, change and an empty Crown Royal bag were taken.
3/21/08 8:19 a.m. Riccardo's on Boones Ferry Road was broken into and wine was apparently stolen.
3/21/08 9:39 a.m. A person called requesting that police check on a woman who was walking southbound on State Street and was concerned about the woman's safety. Police found the woman was the same person who had been reported for several days.
3/21/08 1:54 p.m. A woman said her daughter had been receiving harassing text messages. Police contacted two people and warned them about telephonic harassment.
3/21/08 2:11 p.m. A caller reported that an 87-year-old woman was driving while drunk and with a suspended license.
3/21/08 4:35 p.m. A white Chevrolet pick-up was seen on B Avenue with trash falling out of its cargo bed.
3/22/08 1:24 a.m. At the Bay Roc Apartments, loud people were heard. Police checked and found they were playing video games.
3/22/08 7:58 a.m. A white male, about 25 years old, was seen wearing all camouflage and possibly casing the area around Second Street and B Avenue, according to a caller. He was shaking the fence at a construction site. Police contacted him and found he was opening the job site.
3/22/08 12:51 p.m. A customer at Safeway found a wallet and gave it to police, who returned it to the owner.
3/22/08 4:32 p.m. A woman said a cat attacked her cat three weeks earlier. The cat was injured in the attack. Police advised her to speak with the city attorney.
3/22/08 5:08 p.m. An elderly male was pacing up and down the street on McNary.
3/22/08 6:26 p.m. At McVey Avenue and South Shore Boulevard, the lights were green on all sides of the traffic signal.
3/22/08 6:41 p.m. A woman said she saw a child with his father on Boones Ferry Road. The child was crying and saying 'I want my mommy.' They left in a gray pick-up.
3/23/08 6:48 a.m. The Starbucks on Boones Ferry Road was egged the prior night.
3/23/08 7:05 a.m. A woman on Parkview said there was someone turning her doorknob. An officer checked and found no damage to the door.
3/24/08 12:19 p.m. A needle was seen in the grass on Fourth Street. An officer found it was a capped insulin needle and disposed of it.
3/25/08 8:13 a.m. Waste Management received a call from a driver who said he saw a garbage can pushed into a Ford Ranger pick-up.
3/25/08 9:43 a.m. A spoon and needle were found behind a garbage can on Eaglecrest Drive. Police disposed of them.
3/25/08 2:11 p.m. A woman on Galewood Street said she heard a loud thump on her upstairs windows an hour prior. When she checked, she found egg all over the window.
3/26/08 8:29 a.m. A bicycle was dumped in a pathway behind Tanglewood Drive.
3/26/08 9:21 a.m. A woman reported her daughter had run away. An hour later, she called back and said her daughter had returned home.
3/26/08 2:05 p.m. A juvenile was seen walking down the street, possibly was an Airsoft gun. Police couldn't find him.
3/26/08 11:09 p.m. On Dellwood Drive, a person reported hearing juveniles in the yard next door. Officers found no juveniles around, but there were plastic forks placed in the yard.
3/27/08 3:49 p.m. At Alpine Mortgage on Centerpointe Drive, a person received a threatening call on a cell phone. The person was told by police not to go to work.
3/27/08 4:02 p.m. On Jean Road, a pit bull was found running in traffic.
3/27/08 4:24 p.m. Two solicitors were in the area around Campus Way. They weren't happy when the caller said she wasn't interested. Police found the solicitors and cited them for not having business licenses.
3/27/08 6:36 p.m. A Swastika was spray-painted on a person's lawn the prior night. A police report didn't give the address.
3/27/08 8:34 p.m. A solicitor was on West Bay Road. Police caught up with him and cited him for not having a license.
3/27/08 11:20 p.m. A person on Charles Circle reported damage to yard lights and a mirror stolen off a vehicle. The estimated damage was $2,000.
3/28/08 12:36 p.m. A resident came to Lake Oswego Police Department to say a neighbor had chickens and roosters.
3/28/08 1:03 p.m. A call came into the 9-1-1 dispatch center. Dispatch returned the call and a child said his brother had hurt him but had stopped.
3/28/08 2:38 p.m. A resident reported receiving harassing and threatening phone calls from a blocked number on her cell phone. The caller was making threats of sexual assault.
3/29/08 8:47 a.m. A man reported being outside his father's home and seeing his father on the floor. The death appeared to be natural, according to a police report.
3/29/08 2:04 p.m. A caller reported that a brindle-colored bulldog or boxer was running loose, chasing people. An officer attached the dog to a chain on the front porch of the home on Carman Drive. The officer followed-up with the dog's owner.
3/30/08 12:20 p.m. A woman reported that her 12-year-old daughter had been receiving inappropriate text messages from a 27 year old.
3/30/08 5 p.m. A woman wanted to speak with an officer about openly carrying a firearm when she meets her ex-husband.
3/30/08 9:06 p.m. A resident on Briarwood said a Ryder truck was partially in the resident's yard. An officer checked and found the truck got stuck in the ditch while turning around.
3/31/08 3:20 a.m. At Vandenburgh Jewelers on A Avenue, officers discovered a rock had been thrown through the window and jewelry was taken.
3/31/08 7:43 a.m. At Palisades Elementary School, there was a report of broken glass on an outside door. It was the door under the basketball play area.
3/31/08 10:26 a.m. A 14-year-old was home alone and said he saw a man walking on the side of the house. Turned out to be a natural gas employee who was checking meters.
3/31/08 2:17 p.m. A reckless driver was seen in a tan Toyota 4Runner tailgating and honking the horn. The driver yelled at the caller for driving too slowly, then followed her for awhile.
4/1/08 8:04 a.m. Two baby coyotes were seen in a backyard on Kelok Road.
4/1/08 9:24 a.m. A woman said she is possibly having issues with another person who wants her to move out and then take all of the woman's furniture.
4/1/08 9:27 a.m. A woman said she was followed in her car by another woman in a silver Mercedes and believed that the Mercedes driver was 'not happy with the respondent's driving the speed limit,' a police report said.
3/24/08 6:48 p.m. Someone had stolen a man's name and credit card numbers to purchase cell phones. An officer found the fraudulent use of the man's identity was taking place at Washington Square.
