The Oregon FFA selected Sandy High School senior Quade Sheehan as treasurer in an election held Monday, March 24. Sheehan will be one of six officers who will travel in Oregon and throughout the nation promoting the FFA.

'It's pretty awesome,' said Sheehan, who hopes to become a firefighter. He says the best part about the agricultural organization is "getting to know people, the leadership opportunities and personal growth.'

Sheehan is the second state officer from Sandy's FFA program in the past three years, according to FFA adviser Trisha Dunn. Sheehan is also the local chapter's president and has served as district and chapter officer during FFA leadership camps.

'Quade is just a very outgoing person who has lots of leadership ability,' Dunn said. 'He is very passionate about the FFA and pretty much everything that he does. Hopefully he can bring that out in some other kids in our community and in our state.'
