Tualatin boys edge Canby in league tennis tilt

TUALATIN - The Tualatin High School boys tennis team stayed unbeaten in Pacific Conference meets, but the Wolves picked up their latest win by a very slim margin.
Tualatin moved to 2-0 in league meets by scoring a 5-4 win over Canby in a match played last Thursday at Tualatin High School.
The Timberwolves picked up wins in three of the five singles matches. At No. 1 singles, Tualatin's John Stromberg posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Canby's Jack Knopp.
At No. 4 singles, Zach Munger bested Mitchell Robert by a 6-0, 6-2 margin. The Wolves' other singles victory came at the No. 5 spot, where Jason Nguyen scored a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over Phillip Park.
The Wolves also claimed victory at both of the top doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, the Tualatin team of Andrew Larson and Jacob Nokes bested Eddie Gonzalez and Garrett North 6-3, 6-1. The No. 2 doubles match saw Tualatin's Brock Tillotson and Derek Yagi best Justin Peterson and Nick Van Tassel 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4.
