Centennial shrugged off the wet weather and lit up the leader board to claim Thursday's team title on the eastside course at Glendoveer.

Eagles' junior Nick Chianello earned medalist honors with a 2-under-par 71. After back-to-back bogeys on holes No. 8 and 9, Chianello recovered his stroke and converted birdies on three of the last five holes.

Chianello opened the day strong on the 333-yard, first hole, landing a towering approach shot two feet from the pin to set up an easy birdie putt.

Teammates Cam Matthews (78) and Joey Costa (81) also finished in the top 10, as Centennial beat runner-up Central Catholic by four strokes.

After winning the first two tournaments, Gresham struggled to a fifth-place finish at Glendoveer. The drop allowed Central Catholic to pull even with the Gophers in the league standings midway through the season.
