Police release sketch of rape suspect

The St. Helens Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a rape suspect. On Saturday, April 5, at about 1:30 a.m. a young woman was near the intersection of Oakridge Street and Helens Way when she was contacted by a man driving in a dark-colored vehicle. The victim was forced into the car and driven to an unknown location where she was raped.
The suspect was described as a dark-complexioned white male or possibly Hispanic. The suspect was in his early 20s and stood 5 feet, 10 inches to 6-feet tall. He was described as unshaven and 'hairy.' The suspect was English speaking and did not have an accent.
The suspect vehicle is described as an older four-door vehicle, similar to a Honda. The vehicle is black or dark blue in color and has a loud exhaust, according to police reports. The vehicle has a brown leather or vinyl interior.
