The Portland Chinooks are 1-4 in the International Basketball League, with a home game at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis and Clark College against the China Shanxi Kylins. The Chinooks' best players -David Lucas (playing in Poland), David Jackson (Bosnia), DaJuan Tate (Puerto Rico) and Shammgod Wells -are not expected to arrive for at least another week.

• Cascade Athletic Clubs in Gresham is the site of the regional racquetball championships Wednesday through Sunday. More than 250 players from six states are expected to compete, including Rocky Carlson, the No. 2-ranked player in the world. Carlson will conduct a clinic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. • Beaverton's Ben Crane has secured a major medical extension that will keep him on the PGA Tour throughout the season. Crane, who has had back problems, needed to earn $506,928 in the first 18 tournaments of 2008, and he hit $567,928 with a tie for 20th in this month's Shell Houston Open. He ranks 55th on the year's money list.
