Sewage spill near Gabriel Park
Avoid creek until late Saturday, say officials
City staff discovered sewer leak into an unnamed creek near Southwest Logan Street and 37th Avenue Thursday, April 17, at about noon.
The creek flows west along the south side of Gabriel Park and eventually into Vermont Creek.
According to a news release, crews were not yet able to determine how much sewage had leaked into the creek but are on-scene investigating the cause.
The crew has installed a pump-around system to stop the discharge into the creek and posted warning signs downstream.
People should avoid contact with the water downstream of Logan Street and 37th Avenue until Saturday evening.
