Jerald Edwin Bevens

June 23, 1940-April 14, 2008

Oregon City resident Jerald Edwin Bevens died on April 14, 2008, at age 67. The cause of death was kidney disease.

He was born on June 23, 1940, in Portland, graduated from Wilson High School and Oregon Tech. Institute and was a leader for the Boy Scouts for many years.

He was a volunteer for Hope Food Project and did the worship planning, lighting and camera work for the church. He was the co-owner of Columbia Battery for 17 years and also worked at Screen Graphics and Tektronix.

He is survived by: wife, Bonnie Sager Bevens; daughter, Holly Griffith; sons, Bryan and Zon Bevens; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on April 18, 2008, at the Oregon City Methodist Church.

Remembrances may be sent to the Kidney Foundation.

Max Barton Chapman

May 8, 1934-April 10, 2008

Max Barton Chapman died on April 10, 2008, at age 73, from cancer.

He was born on May 8, 1934, in Finley, Ohio, and earned his bachelor's degree and Masters of Education from Bowling Green State University, where he also lettered in basketball and track.

He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959 and was a member of the basketball team.

He lived in Salem and Oregon City from 1977 to 2000, and moved to Wilsonville in 2002.

He was a director for the Oregon Board of Realtors and owned Shelter Management, a property management company.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Chapman; daughter, Lori Coffey; stepsons, Brian Miles and Greg Miles; brothers, Burly, Ron and Tom; and 11 grandchildren. His stepdaughter, Jamie Pavlicek, died in 2005.

Remembrances may be sent to Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City.

Edna Marie Greger

Jan. 25, 1915-April 12, 2008

Edna Marie Greger died on April 12, 2008, at age 93.

She was born Edna Marie Griffey on Jan. 25, 1915, in Wagner, S. D., and had lived in the Metro area since 1935. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: sons, David and Richard Greger; daughter, Marlene Brown; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Lawrence, and her son, Dennis, preceded her in death.

A graveside service was help on April 21, 2008, at St. Johns Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Riley

March 22, 1949-April 14, 2008

Milwaukie resident Patricia Ann Riley died on April 14, 2008, at age 59.

She was born Patricia Ann Ripley on March 22, 1949,in Portland, and graduated from Toledo High School. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: husband, Dan Riley; sons, Danny Riley II and Steven Riley; daughter, Shannon Glasen; mother, Viola Sabin; brothers, Jerry, Bill and Stephen Ripley and Dennis, Rick and Alfred Sabin; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland.

Remembrances may be sent to St. Vincent Hospital Cardiac Recovery Unit.
