Boxers get four victories at NWC Championships
TRACK and FIELD: Pacific sweeps long jump and triple jump titles at annual conference meet
Pacific swept the men's and women's jumping events at last week's Northwest Conference Championships, held at Colcord Field in Newberg on Friday and Saturday.
Pacific freshman Carson Bartlett pulled a conference championship double, winning titles in both the triple jump (46 feet, 8 inches) and long jump (22'5.5"). Fellow freshman Angie Miller won the women's long jump (17'7.5") and junior Risa Allen successfully defended her NWC title in the women's triple jump (36'4.25"), which she won last year while attending Puget Sound.
'I am really pleased by the way the team competed this weekend,' said Pacific head coach Tim Boyce. 'We represented Pacific well and demonstrated that we are capable of being competitive in all areas as we grow as a program.'
The four wins led a strong showing for the Boxers. The Pacific men finished sixth with 37 points and the women took seventh with 40 points.
